What I wanted to share with you today is probably the most surreal experience that we had on January 1. Here's a teaser.
In case you didn't know, that's my husband Mav and his favorite player of all time, Dirk Nowitzki. As you may know, I fondly refer to my husband on this blog as Mav, because of his deep love of the NBA team, the Dallas Mavericks. Being a west coast team, they only come to DC once a year - and we normally purchase tickets. This year we splurged and found a great deal on tickets right behind the visitors bench. Long story short. We showed up like this... decked out in Mavs gear with Little Man.
As you may imagine, there are very few Mavericks fans in Washington DC (who would have thought). So, since we were one of the few people cheering for the team - and also because I think Little Man was so stinkin' adorable in his Mav's gear yelling "Go Mavs" - a gentleman from the Mavericks organization gave us passes to meet the team after the game!! We nearly passed out! We were both shaking.
Here we are waiting for the Mav's to come out of the locker room.
And then Little Man fell asleep. Poor little guy!
Then the players started to trickle out. I too got to meet my favorite player - Jose Calderon. Please ignore my dorky smile.
We met a couple of other players as well... some not pictured, but here's the other two I was able to snag a photo of on my phone.
