Chalkboard Paint + Countertops

Yes, you did read that title correctly.  This weekend I played around with chalkboard paint on our kitchen countertops and I'm really liking the results.  I've ordered some wax paste to put over top as a protective coat that should come in the mail tomorrow.

So, as a reminder here's what I started with.  Ugly, dirty white laminate countertops.  I sanded them with 120 grit sandpaper, then applied three total coats of Rustoleum chalkboard paint with a foam roller.

Here are the counters after one coat.

And after three coats.
There's a sneak peak in the background of
section 3 of the kitchen cabinets.

I'm really happy with the results so far.  I now just have the countertops around the perimeter to do and then seal.
